Why are pre-orders showing as 'on-hold' in my Shopify store?Updated 2 years ago

When a pre-order is created with Purple Dot, in Shopify the pre-order item will have an on-hold status. 

Here's are some more details on expected behavior of our the on-hold status in a few different situations so you can know what to expect: 

1) Payment fails initially, the customer updates their payment details and payment is taken / When the customer successfully updates after you mark it as ready to fulfill, the hold in Shopify should then be released automatically. 

2) Payment fails, customer does not update payment details or the payment declines again / The hold should not be released until payment is successfully taken. 

3) Customer decides to pay for an order early through the Shopify confirmation link. / The order should remain on-hold until you mark it as ready to fulfill and is expected behavior.
